1pm-4pm: Chinatown Spring Festival Parade art build
To prepare for the Chinatown Spring Festival Parade, we’re hosting an art build to make banners and signs for the parade. While we create the signs together, you can also learn or practice saying and writing Chinese New Year blessings for the Year of the Horse in Hakka, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Wednesday, February 18
1:30-3pm: Chinese paper-cutting workshop for seniors living in Chinatown, Strathcona, and Downtown Eastside neighbourhoods. Hosted by Vancouver Second Mile Society in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Saturday, February 21
2pm-3pm: Chinese New Year children song singalong. Open to all ages.
4:30pm-5:30pm: Shapeshifting Under Empire: Hakka Migration and the Limits of Colonial Assimilation. Talk by Rachel Lim in English. RSVP >

為籌備春節遊行,我們將在唐人街舉辦集體製作活動,製作遊行橫幅與標語。製作期間,亦可一起學習或練習以客語、粵語、國語朗讀或書寫馬年祝福。
